Tuesday morning, it was announced that Billie Eilish would be singing the theme song for the upcoming James Bond movie, No Time To Die, making her the youngest artist to ever sing a Bond theme song.
“The #NoTimeToDie title song will be performed by @billieeilish. Billie has written the song with her brother @finneas and is the youngest artist in history to write and record a James Bond theme song,” the Twitter account for James Bond announced.

Eilish said in a statement to the Rolling Stone that being a part of the film, which will see-off Daniel Craig as the sixth major Bond, “feels crazy” and is a “huge honor.”
“Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock,” Eilish said.
Bond stans, who seem to be mostly baby boomers, were perturbed by the news that an 18-year-old would be singing the title song of the classic franchise.
“Sorry but this is going to be TERRIBLE. I can understand she’s critically acclaimed and many love her, but it’s not going to be remotely ‘Bond’. Probs won’t be able to understand a word of it. Bond themes are for all time, not just what’s ‘in’ at the time,” Twitter user @Adt1001 wrote.

Some believe the young artist, who recently celebrated her 18th birthday, had never even heard of the iconic movie franchise or its titular character before her involvement.

Bond fans can rest easy as a recent interview with Rolling Stone revealed that this has been Eilish’s life-long dream.
“Writing the theme song for a Bond film is something we’ve been dreaming about doing our entire lives,” her brother, Finneas O’Connell, stated. “There is no more iconic pairing of music and cinema than the likes of Goldfinger and Live and Let Die. We feel so, so lucky to play a small role in such a legendary franchise, long live 007.”
